Ramps
Ramp or platform lift?
A ramp is simple until you calculate its length. When to choose a ramp, when a lift – and why the lift often wins.
Short answer
A ramp works where there is enough length for a gentle gradient and landings. Where space is short, the rise is more than a step or two, or interior floor area is valuable, a compact lift (LK-1 or AK-1) is usually more practical. Ekodarna builds both.
Ramps need length
The higher the rise, the longer the ramp – and long ramps need landings and handrails. Exact requirements depend on the building type and current regulations, which we check for each project.
When a lift is better
- A ramp would block a passage or yard.
- The steps are indoors – LK-1 keeps them as stairs.
- The rise is greater – a long ramp is tiring every day.
